Control Your Acne; Control The Health Of Your Skin
Our face is the first thing we present to the world. Whether meeting someone for the first time, talking to friends, or conducting business, our face sends a strong message to those around us.
For those who suffer from acne, interacting with the rest of the world can be a painful experience. The impact of this common skin affliction can often have long reaching repercussions both socially and emotionally. This is why sufferers of acne will often go to great lengths to find successful acne control.
Acne stems from the blockages of pores. Once pores become blocked, oil - that we naturally produce and ordinarily eliminate - can not be purged. As a result, we are left with oil build-up and subsequent blemishes.
While many acne sufferers are in their teens, acne does not discriminate by age. Many of those who struggle with acne are adults. Often, an underlying problem will follow sufferers from adolescence through adulthood.
And while acne can not necessarily be cured, it can be treated, and in many cases, prevented. For many, successful acne control often results in a larger sense of control and a whole new lease on life.
Acne control comes in many forms. For those who are dealing with existing acne there is an abundance of over-the-counter creams, topical medication, and cleansing regimes available. Many find these products to work quite well.
For others, successful acne control means medical supervision and prescription products. A professional dermatologist can assess your specific skin condition and prescribe the appropriate remedies accordingly.
Either way, treatment is only half the battle. Prevention can mean the most when successfully managing acne. Prevention often means a combination of daily steps that will go a long way to successful acne control.
Diet can affect the health of your skin significantly. Internal “cleansing” of your pores can result in clean and healthy skin. Drinking water throughout the day will do much for your complexion.
Additionally, avoiding greasy foods and focusing on a more natural, whole foods diet can greatly aid acne control. Remember that whatever you put in your body will reflect on your body.
Also - in the spirit of prevention – a daily, committed skin-care regime puts you in control of the health of your skin. Whether you find something over-the-counter or you turn to your dermatologist for a prescribed skin care line, proper and dedicated cleansing (including cleanser, astringent, moisturizer, and sometimes topical acne cream) are imperative to the overall health of your skin.
Sticking to the acne control method that works best for you – no matter what that is – will ensure you healthy, acne-free skin for a lifetime. So that you are able to put your best face forward.

Acne Control

Acne is a problem that is more than skin deep. The best treatment for acne will involve nutrition and herbs both internally and externally. In addition to these two elements, the control of acne requires thorough, gentle cleansing. Therefore, there are three steps to beautiful clear skin - internal treatment, external treatment, and cleansing.
The best internal treatment for acne will be one that contains herbal medications. These require no prescription. Many other medications for acne control do require a prescription, and can only be used for severe cases. In addition, many of these prescription medications have serious side effects. Some, like Accutane, have been found to cause depression, and even suicide. Herbs, on the other hand, are natural, gentle, and effective.
The external part of a good acne control system must have certain characteristics as well. For one thing it needs to not be a drying formula, and yet it needs to control the oil in your skin. It should be able to be used on either a severe case or a mild case. It should contain botanical ingredients that heal and strengthen the cellular structure of your skin. The cleanser should remove extra sebum, the natural oil in your skin, which contains the bacteria that cause acne.
The other part of a good quality acne control system is a lotion or gel to treat the blemishes after cleansing the face. This product should be able to unplug the pores. It also should fight the bacteria that causes acne. It should also be formulated with a transdermal delivery system so that the helpful, natural ingredients are absorbed into the skin thoroughly.
Why do you get acne? The actual outer layer of skin is dead, but under this thin layer called the epidermis, the cells are alive and multiplying. Normally your skin is shedding the old cells and replacing them with new ones. The problem happens when too many dead skin cells clump together with the natural skin oils, called sebum, and cause the pores to get clogged.
Acne is a skin disorder that actually starts two or three weeks before the blemish appears. The beginning is the clogging of the pore. The natural bacteria that live on the skin begin to multiply inside the pore since the excess oils can't get out. Since the body is fighting bacteria, white blood cells arrive on the scene, and inflammation is the result.
Obviously, frequent cleansing is an important step in acne control, since the extra skin cells and oils need to be removed in order to keep them from clogging the pores in the first place. But washing too often can be drying to the skin. For these reasons, skin cleansers need to be very gentle.

Acne Control
Best Acne Control Treatments
Author: Tatyana Turner
Does acne make your life miserable? There are many acne control treatments and products on the market, each promises to cure your acne. You definitely don't need them all to clear your face of acne. Find out about best acne control methods that are proven to work.
Acne control - is there an ultimate acne treatment?
Can acne be cured? Unfortunately not, at least not completely. Scientists are still not certain what cause acne. Most agree that it is related to hormonal imbalance that happens during puberty. But there is still no explanation why some teens are so badly affected while their lucky peers can clean faces. But the good news is that whatever causes acne, it can be controlled and acne outbreaks can be prevented.
The most unlucky group who has acne is teenagers, but adult acne happens often too. It can suddenly pop up at any age. Common condition called acne rosacea occurs after 30.
As with any disease it is better to prevent it than to cure. With acne this is especially true - preventing acne outbreaks is very important.
Acne control diet
Your diet is important for acne control. It was previously believed that oily foods like pizza and other fast foods can cause acne. Recent studies have shown that this is not true. However, these foods are "empty calories" meaning that they don't deliver any useful vitamins and nutrients.
To help your skin fight acne you need to provide it with good nutrition. So plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables is a must for a good acne control diet. Most important vitamin for preventing acne is Vitamin B5. You can take it as additional supplement. Eating fish is also beneficial, because Omega 3 fat is important for healthy skin. Also avoid drinking too much milk. Milk contains some hormones that can cause acne breakouts.

Regular cleansing is the best acne control treatment
Use gentle acne cleansers to wash your face. Usually using a cleanser in the morning and in the evening gives best results. Doing it more often won't help, it can only irritate your skin. It is important to use an acne cleanser even when you don't have an outbreak. It will prevent acne from popping up. Cleansers with benzoyl peroxide give best results. You can get acne cleansers in any chemist or supermarket.
Prescription acne medication
For mild cases of acne simply cleansing your skin every day will help. However, if you used a good cleanser for a couple weeks and saw no improvement, it is time to visit a dermatologist and ask a professional advice. Don't waste you time and money trying other over the counter products that promise miracles - most of them contain the same ingredients any way. So if one cleanser didn't work for you, it is unlikely that any other would ether.
A doctor can prescribe you an acne control treatment suitable for your skin. It can be acne antibiotic cream or an oral acne medication. To clean your skin a doctor can also suggest a cleaning treatment such as dermabrasion or a chemical peel.
The key to best acne control treatments is not to give up. If you found acne cleanser or cream that works, use it regularly. And don't forget about your diet too. Follow doctor's instructions, if you are prescribed acne treatment. This way you can clear your face of acne and prevent farther outbreaks.

Acne Control
Natural Acne Control
Author: Stella Pobre
Acne control doesn't have to be a hugely complex affair. You don't have to sort through all of the available commercial acne control products either. There are several natural ways to alleviate acne and control the situation to stop future acne breakouts.
First of all, cleansing is really the only completely necessary part of an effective acne control regimen. Cleansing is important because most acne is caused by bacteria that flourish underneath the surface layers of skin. When this bacterial growth gets out of hand, the body responds by enclosing the infected pore. This is how a pimple is formed.
So, acne control starts with an effective cleanser. Now, 'effective' doesn't mean harsh, and it doesn't have to be a specially formulated acne cleansing solution either. In fact, the simpler the cleanser, the better the results will be.
Commercially prepared skin cleansers are nearly always filled with all kinds of extra ingredients that will only dry out skin and exacerbate the situation. People suffering from acne breakouts can tolerate these ingredients even less, though these products take a toll on even healthy skin.
So let's keep things simple. Nature has already provided all of the necessary components to keeping skin healthy and acne free. In fact, the body is completely capable of cleansing and healing itself if given only the most basic support. These support factors include drinking enough water, getting adequate rest, basic cleansing and eating clean foods.
Begin by cleaning the skin with a very simple and gentle cleanser, such as borax or all-natural body wash that is unscented. The simpler the cleanser used the better. After all, all we're trying to accomplish here is breaking up the oil deposits in order to rid the skin of bacteria that causes acne.
It is also a good idea to incorporate some type of exfoliation in order to get at the oil trapped below the dead surface skin cells. By combining exfoliation with cleansing, you'll be able to really impact the underlying causes of acne breakouts.
For improved acne control, in addition to a simple cleansing and exfoliation regimen, try applying undiluted lavender essential oil. Lavender essential oil is safe to apply undiluted to even the most broken or irritated skin. It has powerful antibacterial properties, as well as pain relieving capabilities. At first, lavender applied to broken skin may cause stinging, but this is mild to moderate and is quickly replaced with a pleasant numbness.
Another critical component to acne control is drinking adequate amounts of water. The body needs water in order to perform its own natural cleansing processes. On a cellular level, wastes can only be carried away if the body and blood are properly hydrated.
Without adequate hydration, the body simply isn't able to carry away the various toxins and wastes that the cells dutifully remove from the interior of the cells. The only way to improve this is to drink more water. So how much water is enough? For men, shoot for three to four liters (or quarts) a day. Women should drink between two and three liters (or quarts) each day to maintain optimal hydration levels.

Acne Control
Single Mom Gives Her Tips On Acne Control
Acne Control
By: Sondra Dee
I`m a single mom and can`t afford expensive 8-step face procedures to do twice a day or facial peels from a spa. I rely on some "back-to-basics" routines that are simple and work. All almost anyone needs to maintain acne is a good facewash, to use everyday, and a good moisturizer. I like to use Noxema, but where I feel the real good stuff is with Got2Be In Your Face facewash, used everday followed with Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizer to add a nice sunny glow. Facewashes with the little scrubbies in the soap help to really penetrate the layer of grease on, let`s face it (pardon the pun), everyone`s face. When showering use the warmest water you can handle to facewash. Then after washing your face rinse with the coldest water you can handle, this will help to close your pores.
A little-known trick that also helps to keep the skin looking young, is egg whites. Sounds crazy, I know, but rubbing just the white of eggs on your face at least once a week tightens the skin on your face. This will leave you with skin so tight and soft, you won`t believe it was from an egg.
To solve those blasted black heads I recommend Biore Deep Cleansing Nose Strips, which work wonders on my skin. Plus, without the damage of rough chemicals on some, the are more gentle on sensitive skin.
Well, that`s my take on acne control. Affordable and some solutions are what you probably already have in your refrigerator. So go experiment and thank me later. Again, all you need is a good facewash to use everyday followed with a moisturizer that agrees with your skin type.
